Details revealed regarding graphic exhibition at Roadburn 2012

This year’s Roadburn Festival will include the world premiere of Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu’s new exhibition “Too Late for Rainbows.” Following the success of his 2011 exhibition “Where Purgatory Ends,” a combination art show/musical performance/happening staged at various events in Alba Iulia (Transylvania), Helsinki, New York and Bucharest, it is Tilburg’s turn to host the artist.

Unlike “Where Purgatory Ends,” which featured metaphorical reflections on daily life and transcendent childhood memories, “Too Late for Rainbows” deals with spiritual crimes that man has been plotting for thousands of years and is about to commit. While the artist is aware of the imminence of this process and its consequences, he also understands that the unseen world, almost gone from the conscience of man, will swiftly return. The visual discourse is a graphical and metaphorical observation of the final moments of this spiritual apocalypse, for the unseen world and the bond it shares are the most important endangered species in man’s world.

Initially joining forces as a tribute band to BATHORY, singer Alan Averill (PRIMORDIAL), guitarists Rune Eriksen (AVA INFERI, AURA NOIR) and Patrik Lindgren (THYRFING), bassist Frode Glesnes (EINHERJER) and drummer Nick Barker (LOCK UP), TWILIGHT OF THE GODS recently started to write their own material, which should end up on a full-length album some time next year. This is the first official imagery of the band, and was made by me.

Where Purgatory Ends in New York

The visit in United States Of America was another great experiment from many points of view. Now I saw the land where all the movies from my childhood where made and the first step outside the JFK Airport in New York was a interesting experience. Thanks to Stefan Raduta, the promoter working under the name of Singe Valah, “Where Purgatory Ends” exhibition happened also in this epic center where all civilizations seems to be attracted to. The event was very well prepared, as Stefan prepared some very interesting installations for exposing the artworks in a very cool way and having on the stage in the middle of exhibition, great artists like Kevin Hufnagel (Dysrhythmia, Gorguts), Nathanaël Larochette (Musk Ox), Daniel Menche, Mick Barr (Krallice). Before the exhibition was open, the legendary Tony Iommi visited the location for having a quick signing session for his book “Iron Man”. Surrounded by the artworks of “Where Purgatory Ends”, he met a group of selected fans, in a very special atmosphere.

If regarding Finland I can say things straight, regarding the New York moments I really need more time to process, as the level of information was quite heavy and I really consider that place something totally different than what I saw before. I want to thank these great artists that shared the stage in the middle of my exhibition, turning the atmosphere of “Where Purgatory Ends” into different dimensions and ways of perception. The huge thanks goes to Stefan Raduta, for making this thing possible and to an angel that I met there under the name Emily.

I wish I could say more…but I think the pictures are working better.

Due to last minute withdrawal of Septic Flesh (tour schedule conflict) we invited legendary MELECHESH to take over their place!
Their last album “The Epigenesis” receives great reviews and Nuclear Blast see them as one of the most promising bands on black metal scene.
