A Passenger And The Choir Of Thirteen Ghosts is my side musical project. It was created to be a rather chaotic live act, performing in atypical places, preferably nature related. The project had 2 shows in 2012 (both held in wild woods, during the night), 2 shows in 2013 (One as opening act for Mono in a big venue from Bucharest and another at DBE festival, in the camp side, around the camp fire). No, is not a folk project as it is not a hippie project either. It is just a personal way of doing music, and a personal vision of presenting music. Every show was completely different, having a totally different theme. Sometimes I worked with actors or artists, sometimes i made it completely alone, just with my guitar, batteries-supplied amp and batteries-supplied pedals. A Passenger And The Choir Of Thirteen Ghosts is what it is and it’s not involving egos. It’s all about praising the moment and it’s all about being the part of a whole. This whole, changes every time so I will never know who will be near to me at the next show, simply because of the differences between presented concepts. Sometimes an idea can be presented with same people, sometimes the idea is telling me actually who I need into the project , for that time, in order to make it complete.
The show which will be presented at KruNatura (31 may 2014) is promoting a new concept and again a new line-up. Together with Alex Ghita (percussion – Bloodway, Roadkill Soda) and Gina Sandulescu (percussion) I will present the show entitled “Call Of The Sunset Spider”. Never done before, never to be repeated in the future. This is a one-night-only show, presented just on may 31, Cimpulung Moldovenesc, Romania.
Now, speaking of musical part, the single thing I will mention is “do not have expectations”. If it was dark in the past, maybe now it will be enlighten music. Maybe it was without rhythm, maybe now has rhythm. If it was complex in the past, maybe now is time to try something radical and reduce music to the essence. At the same time there is NO rational pattern for giving myself the answers to these topics, as I have zero reasons for over thinking and over filtering this project’s work. I consider the ideas must be not altered by social-technical-startegical-ecomonical filters. That is another reason for changing the line-ups as well. Strangely, thsi musical project is NOT as it was never a random – jam-session act. Once the ideas are freely gathered like a puzzle of a starting point, then a rational and coherent part of creation starts, which concerns music itself, people involved, possible additional features to the show. This is the way I work in the case of A Passenger And The Choir Of Thirteen Ghosts. See you there!
